Methods

There are two ways that printed graphics can be applied to a corrugated box or display:

  • Direct - either onto the combined board or onto the linerboard before being glued to the fluted medium.
  • Sheet - printing on a separate sheet which is then glued to the combined board.

Some printing techniques dictate whether you should print on the combined board, linerboard, or on a separate sheet, while other techniques work equally well on more than one material. Which method you use to apply the graphics is determined by costs, scheduling, design and quality factors, as well as what printing process you will use. Our Designer's Corner offers some topics to consider to help you decide.
